Lactation Chocolate Chip Cookies

Most think breastfeeding comes naturally, but often it doesn't. You need to figure out the right position and why your supply can't keep up with your baby's needs. Eating foods rich in milk-producing ingredients may help. I swear by these lactation cookies and have baked them for my family and girlfriends. They can be made vegan/ dairy-free and also refined sugar-free. Here's how I make them.

🌿 Ingredients

1 stick of Unsalted Butter (Vegan butter if desired)
1/3 c Sugar (Monkfruit Sweetener works well as a refined sugar alternative)
1/3 c Brown Sugar (or Coconut Sugar)
2 tbsp Water
1 tbsp Flaxseed Meal
1 Egg (or Flax Egg: 1 tbsp Flaxseed Meal plus 3 tbsp of warm water)
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 c Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 1/2 c Organic Old-Fashioned Oats
3/4 c Dark Chocolate Chips
2 tbsp Brewer's Yeast

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine flaxseed meal with water in small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar for 5 minutes. Add eggs and mix well, followed by flaxseed mix and vanilla. Beat well.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk together flour, brewer's yeast, baking soda and sea salt.
  4. Add ingredients to butter mixture and beat well until just combined. Stir in organic oats and dark chocolate chips.
  5. Using a medium cookie scoop (or spoon), scoop dough onto pan spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 12 minutes.
  6. Cool on pan for 5 minutes before moving to cooling rack.

Makes 24 mouthwatering cookies. Enjoy and good luck!
