What is Upcycling?

Almost 40% of food produced is never consumed. Upcycling means taking food—like fruit or grains—that might’ve been thrown away (even though it’s still perfectly good!) and using it to make something new and yummy instead. It helps the planet, saves resources, and makes sure good food doesn’t go to waste.

  • Step 1

    Oil is extracted from sunflower seeds — what’s left behind is called sunflower cake.

  • Step 2

    The leftover cake is dried and finely ground into a powder called Sunflower Cake.

  • Step 3

    It’s sifted to concentrate the plant protein — ready to boost our cookies. The end result is made of 51% protein!
