About to start baking and realize that you have no eggs, cake flour or heavy cream. Here are some easy hacks.
HEAVY CREAM
![Heavy cream](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0566/3929/1542/files/6_480x480.jpg?v=1668523680)
Simply melt butter (vegan if desired) in 15 second increments in the microwave until melted. Combine this with 3/4 cup room temperature plant-based milk in a high speed blender for 5 minutes. You'll end up with a cup of creamy homemade heavy cream.
CAKE FLOUR

Like the heavy cream, you only need 2 ingredients. Add 1 cup of flour (AP or GF) to a bowl. Remove 2 tbsp of flour. Add in 2 tbsp cornstarch and whisk together for 1 cup of cake flour.
EGG SUB

This is also an easy 2 ingredient sub. Add 1 tbsp flaxseed meal to a bowl along with 3 tbsp warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes and add in place of an egg to most bakes. I always have flaxseed meal on hand so I never worry about running out of "eggs." For other egg subs, check out my blog article on Egg Substitutes.
